Any business that honors credit cards as a form of payments is required by the credit card associations to be compliant. Compliance with the PCI (Payment Card Industry) set of standards is mandatory and enforced by the major payment card brands who established the Council: Visa Inc., Master Card Worldwide, American Express, Discover Financial Services, and JBC International. Failure to comply can lead to large, debilitating fines. |

This is NOT a choice but a requirement by all the associations for all merchants that honor credit cards. You will have 30 days to complete this process. |

Beginning February 2010, your Merchant Service
Provider is required to report to the associations that you have met all of the compliance requirements.
These Requirement Are:
PCI Required Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ)·
Certificate of completion·
PCI quarterly system scanning·
Policy and payment application best practices (PABP)·
Reporting to acquire as required by the association· |

A certificate of compliance will be awarded to each site location
upon completion of the SAQ, or in some instances after system
scan is performed, and is valid for 12 months. there are fees
associated with this program and each participant has the option
of an annual fee that is billed once a year for $129 or a 12 month
installment option of $15 per month for a total of $180, the
program is automatically renewed each year. The program fees
are non-refundable and non-cancellable. |
